Instructor Development Course
The PADI instructor Development Course is made up of two main parts the Assistant Instructor Course (AI) and the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI). With your Course Director's agreement and in completing the AI and OWSI courses to the required standard gains you entry into the PADI Instructor Examination (IE).
What You Will Learn
Over a minimum of seven days, the IDC teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety. The Instructor Development Course will be held at Instructor Development Center or Career Development Center.

Prerequisites

Be a PADI Divemaster or qualifying certification from another certification organization

Be at least 18 years old
-
Have 60 logged dives and 100 dives to attend an IE, including night, deep, and navigation dives

Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months
-
Have CPR and First Aid Training within the last 24 months
-
Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months
